This notice explains what CharteringDays collects when you visit, why, and how to change your mind.
The short version
There are no accounts, no logins and no newsletter on this site. Nothing is asked of you and nothing is stored about you unless you accept analytics cookies. If you decline, the only thing kept on your device is the record of that refusal, so you are not asked again.
Analytics
With your consent the site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views and to see which cruising grounds are read and which affiliate links are followed. This is measured in aggregate. It is used to decide which pages to improve, not to build a profile of you, and the data is not sold or shared with anyone for marketing.
Google Consent Mode v2 is in use, which means the analytics tags load with storage denied by default and only switch on if you accept. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage.
Affiliate partners
Links to charter, flight, transfer and insurance partners are affiliate links. When you follow one, the partner may set its own cookie to attribute a later booking. That happens on their site under their own privacy policy, not this one. Which partners are involved and how the arrangement works is set out in the affiliate disclosure.
Third parties that load on these pages
- Google Analytics 4, for the measurement described above, only after consent
- Travelpayouts, which converts partner links into tracked affiliate links
- Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces used across the site
- Leaflet from unpkg and map tiles from CARTO and OpenStreetMap, on pages showing the wind map
Each of these receives your IP address as a technical necessity of delivering the file, in the same way any website you visit does.
What is stored on your device
One entry in local storage recording your cookie choice, kept until you clear it. Google Analytics cookies, only if you accepted, which expire within two years and can be removed at any time through your browser settings.
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time: use the Cookie choices link in the footer of any page, or reopen the banner here. Withdrawing consent takes one click, exactly like giving it. Analytics storage is switched off the moment you reopen the banner, before you choose again.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, and complain to your national data protection authority. Because the site holds no account data and analytics is aggregated and pseudonymous, in practice there is usually very little to hand over, but ask and you will get a straight answer.
